When Ms. Berg was in the 11th grade, she took a personality test that said she should be a Kindergarten teacher, and that first got her thinking about entering the field of education. Now, as a teacher, she places great emphasis on reflective teaching and actively seeks student feedback. She says, "I always end each module (unit) with a reflection, including suggestions for me. This is something that gives the students real voice. It can be scary to allow students to really speak their mind, but the feedback is largely motivational and positive." Ms. Berg believes the best part of teaching is seeing students grow and improve throughout the year, even if those improvements aren't content-based.
A Peek inside ms. berg's classroom
Ms. Berg's teaches at a project-based learning school, so there are always "tons of interesting projects in our building." One of her favorite activities was having her students write tweets from the perspective of different characters in a novel.
Take all of the help offered. I know you want to prove you can do it, but it's not worth the stress to prove yourself.
